Architect Jacques Rougerie -an expert when it comes to space and underwater structures- has designed the soon-to-be first underwater museum. It will be located off the coast of Egypt, near the new Library of Alexandria, where Cleopatra once had a palace on an island in one of the largest human-made bays in the world back in the day, submerged by earthquakes in the 4th century.

Volcanoes may have helped create life on Earth

The event that sparked life has been described as being as miraculous as a whirlwind spinning through a scrap-yard and leaving behind a fully assembled jumbo jet.

But now scientists believe that volcanic activity may have played a significant role in that remarkable event more than 3.5 billion years ago.

Researchers looked back at one of the most famous laboratory experiments in history which produced amino acids, the building blocks of life, by mixing water, gases and electricity.
